A large number of dead fish were reported floating in Turtle Pond, near the playground this morning.  

The pond treatment company reported the dead fish are shad, which are notoriously subject to die-offs while other species are unaffected.

Someone will be returning to remove the dead fish later this weekend, as the weather allows.
